Sage is a bilingual reporter based between San Francisco, CA and San Juan, PR. Her work is heart-led and human-rights focused.
In 2020, she won first place in the Bay Area Press awards for her political columns in El Tecolote. Most recently, she completed an investigation for El Centro de Periodismo Investigativo and now she works as an immigration reporter for Mission Local. In December 2025, the ACLU NorCal and the Lawyers Committee for Civil Rights cited Mace and her colleagues work of tracking courthouse arrests in a lawsuit that halted the practice of courthouse arrests in San Francisco and its areas of responsibility.
Off the clock, Sage can be found on the island volunteer teaching with her third-graders who call her Missy, writing poetry, or reading under the trees with her cat, Mano.
